Young Liverpool Film Night is just over a week away, but we are not panicking, OH NO, everything is coming together quite nicely actually, not least because of the Freehander’s hard work, which includes folding paper boats (origami style), writing the programme of events for the night, and of course, judging all of the amazing films that were submitted this year.

Don’t forget to book your tickets from FACT’s Box Office and see what it’s all about. Or, if you are a charity or youth organisation, please contact Louise Latter louise.latter@fact.co.uk 0151 707 4444 for complimentary tickets. Shortlisted filmmakers will receive complimentary tickets for themselves and a few friends/family.

Robot Reboot – The Perfect Intermission

Despite all the hard work we also found time to fit in a fun and thought provoking workshop with artist Dave Evans. It was the perfect break from the hard work we’ve been putting in for YLFN. We spent the day looking at the history of Robots in cinema, then taking a few choice scenes and re-creating them in a very home made way. Here a few pics from the day, and of course, we’ll get the finished rebooted films up here soon ——–>

All of this gives me the perfect excuse to link this website: http://mymakedo.com/ I’ve been waiting so long!

We’ve had a busy few weekends here at FACT, with Freehand, Clubmoor Youth, and some very inspirational filmmakers. One film we made involves goose fat the other is a viral film inspired by our very own city, LIVERPOOL. So much great footage and some amazing new skills to take home. Keep an eye out for the final cuts. We’ll put them up on here soon. Until then here’s a few pics from the ‘I’m Liverpool’ production.

On November 12th Youtube and the BBC are running a project where people ALL over the Country film a day in their lives.  GET ON IT!
This is your chance to express yourself. From the ordinary to the extraordinary, your footage will feature in our online archive, and the more memorable your recording, the greater the chance of your material being included in the final film.

Films can be shot on anything from hand held-mobile phones to the best HD cameras. The higher the quality the better – but it’s the content of your film that really counts.
Some of the questions from director Morgan Matthews to get you thinking before you record your video include

- What do you like or dislike about Britain?
- What makes you happy?
- What can you see from your window and how would you describe your area?
- What do you worry about?
See here for more info
